I’m about to see a psychiatrist for the first time in my life for adhd & anxiety. I currently use cannabis to sleep and for social situation serenity. Am I going to run into any problems there? Currently cannabis is legal here, but still a federal problem. I currently take no meds. Open to suggestions.

My advice is to tread lightly and try to find out more about their stance. Not with a psychiatrist, but I thought I would be in the clear with a psychologist in a state where it was legalized, but they ended up freaking out and making me wait 30 days for continued treatment. Huge paim in my ass and the first time I was ever honest with a medical professional. Worth it to do your own research on rx / cannabis interactions too.

Just be honest. Doctors can more effectively treat us if they are given all the info possible.
It just depends on the Dr. and his own "feelings" about it. If he doesn't agree with it you can ask to see someone who is open to it. Or go to a different facility all together.
