Long-term Psych Med Use: Help or Hindrance?

Anyone else on a slew of pysch meds for so long they can't even tell what's working? I'm mildly numbed out sometimes, and capable of feeling joy, but scaries are by no means far away at any time. Have any of you done a rehaul to figure out what does what? Anyone come off Lithium before? Or is this just my self-destructive instinct to burn it all down and see what's left?

honestly you have to make that decision when you are also in this situation what is it you want then taking small steps on that. Hopeful you are receiving counseling as well it helps a lot. With my condition however if you can't afford it...then I would recommend books definitely helps and if you have a focus issue on books. I would suggest YouTube and motivational mental health podcasts. It's what I do when I need help or references. You might want to ask your doctor to help ween you are off all your meds or a particular med I would do this only if you are on a better diet and if you have any issues with psychosis it should be done at a behavioral health center.....for some people every reaction is different or similar however if you really want to know check in with a friend or a partner that lives with you about your mood as your and behavior and you will notice something in the pattern of the behavior or moods what the meds are doing or not doing it's best to have a higher awareness of what you want and what your looking for.

I also can't tell! except maybe I don't think any of them are working because I am constantly in depressive or manic episodes. I am also on lithium and would really prefer to go off it but I keep getting switched between psychiatrists and none of them will take me off.

I’m currently on 5 meds along with a potassium supplement and I’ve been wanting to come off of them. But just keep up with treatment and if you are really tired of so many meds talk to your doctor about it.
