Need Help Controlling My Psoriasis

i’d recommend going to a dermatologist to get a prescription shampoo i use one and it cleared up my scalp psoriasis a lot

I've had psoriasis for 30 years or so. The arthritis piece only maybe last 2-3 years. Meanwhile I've went around and around with dermatologists trying to get relief from rashes. Nothing they prescribed worked except of course when was really super bad they would put me on prednisone for a short time. Within couple days would be almost gone. But the side effects are bad from long term use of that. So through trial and error I've discovered my own natural ways to keep the rashes at bay. Those are mostly baths with Epsom salts is my stand by. Essential oils such as cedar, eucalyptus and lavender. Also vicks medicated rub. At night in bed. I have recently moved to a place where I don't have a tub. Rash is coming back a little bit in few places mostly where I sweat. Then I either go to a friend's either take a bath there. Or tanning also does wonders for it. Have to go often at first if it's out of control. To really blast it, then can ease off some. Only thing with that is skin cancer can be a problem. I actually have a few spots on my right arm that I should have checked to see if that's what they are.

How long have you been on your psoriasis medication , if they are not working see if you change . I have found that I stayed on meds too long waiting for benefits … that barely appeared. I can understand I have had psoriasis my whole life really it’s in my ears, affecting most of my nails and toe nails, and off and on all over body. Plus have always have the joint pain… I understand your pain and frustration. I am currently on enbrel with okay results skin better …. Joints okay but scalp /nails/ ears no improvement… thinking about moving on to something better.

Please be careful with gabapentin. It’s potential very dangerous

Otezla was a miracle for me. It was two pills a day. I had mild side effects of diarrhea and weight loss for maybe a week and a half, and complete and total clearing of my bad and always infected plaques after about a month. The best part is, even though i now haven’t used it in several years with any regularity, my skin is still clear!!!!

Hello all, Why is it that. With Rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and osteoarthritis. Do you have one good day and the next day can’t even move? My body be in so much pain. Spoke to my doctor and she raised my gabapentin. When I say nothing works I mean nothing has been working. Been in constant pain..🥲🥲🥲🥲

I’m currently on methoxate and Xeljanz and recently caught Covid. And it made my symptoms worst. Yes I do have a rheumatologist that I am currently working with. And in constant pain due to my ailments. Need help did I mention mental health 🥲🥲🥲

Do you have a dermatologist and a rheumatologist? I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and having both drs that can and will work together has helped me ALOT. I’m so sorry you have such bad psoriasis. What treatment are you on currently?

OMG.... this happened to my brother. Even in his ears. He had to take a medical leave of absence and I took a leave of absence too to take care of him for a month at my house. I was an RN. Are you under a rheumatologist care? Are you on any medication? There are many things that can be done, from a doctor AND you can take supplements ( I do) to help the immune system. Look up Anthony William if you'd like to see how supplements can be beneficial. I'm on ssdi, so I'm in the process of slowly buying the supplements I want from Amazon. There are loads of testimonials about people finding relief from their different diseases that effect them. I hope this helps you. I understand completely. Oh! I also had psoriasis, but it's clear now due to Humira. I still have it on my scalp a little but I treat that with topical things from a prescription.
