I've been on Prozac since August 2021. I'd say the biggest thing for me was weight gain. I went from around 100 to 120 over the span of about a year, which honestly was probably good for me as I was underweight. Another thing I experienced for a week or two right after starting was a feeling of emotional numbness and lack of motivation, but it didn't feel bad. Mostly it was just my brain being like "ah, let's just keep relaxing!" I did also take Prozac a few years ago and after about two years of taking it I started having irritability. I think for me, it was best to be on it for a while, take a break, and then hop back on.

side effects really depends on your body and the dosage … honestly, if I could go back and not get on mental health meds I would. i’ve completely changed as a person.

Prozac didn't work for me. But everyone is different. Try it and within a couple months u will know. If it gets worse stop taking it and call ur Dr.

Lots of people are sharing their stories which can be nice to see but with a medication isn't really helpful because you just never know how it'll work for you. Talk to your doctor, and if they prescribe it that means they think the potential benefits outweigh the potential side effects for you. There's just no way to know without trying

I’ve been on prozac before and it simply did not work for me personally, I was becoming more stressed and suicidal. So obviously a side affect is it being worse. 👍

I LOVE Prozac for depression. Side effects I've encountered are feeling extra hot and sweaty, and others may experience heart palpitations, tachycardia, or hypertension, but that's usually exacerbated in people who already deal with those conditions.

Sometimes with Prozac especially if you have other mental diagnoses it may cause a buzzing in your head! In my experience personally it didn’t help much but my family also has issues with a lot of medication.

I take Zoloft and it seems to work.

I've been on lots of meds that didn't work but Prozac with naltrexone, Buspar, olanzapine, and guanfacine (for my adhd) has been the best combo yet.

I've been on serveral meds for depression (Wellbutrin, Effexor, Remeron, Zoloft, etc.) and Prozac was the closest I got to feeling better! side effect wise most meds give me horrible side effects but Prozac was wonderful, no side effects to be seen.

Fluoxetine was my magic medicine! Other ones I’ve been on (Wellbutrin & lexapro) resulted in weird side effects like anger and worsened depression. The only thing abt fluoxetine that I’ve noticed is that if I miss a day/ dose, I will get the most awful headache and I’ll feel groggy almost.

I'm on it now and it is really helpful. I was on Paxil for years before that but paxil is said make people gain weight so I switched because I'm trying to lose. Everyone reacts differently to medicine though so you just have to monitor yourself while trying new things 🙌 best of luck!
