i just got 6 months clean off of alcohol on saturday. i almost k*lled myself 6 months ago to the day & now my life is better than i could have ever dreamed.

Going with my gut, when looking for an ADHD diagnosis. I had a Psychiatrist who didn't believe adults (especially adult women) could have it, so I went over his head and sought a (successful) diagnosis, elsewhere. My gut was screaming I was on the right track, and I was. 🙂

My eldest is 16 tomorrow and I still can't believe I've raised a whole human being almost to adulthood relatively unscathed.

Moving interstate, getting a restraining order and getting a house to escape abusive family. I moved 2.5 years ago, got the restraining order 18 months ago and got my house a year ago

Realizing that I am nothing like my mother as a parent and my daughter feel safe and loved with me. 🥰

At one time I was at my heaviest at 220 now at 210 even went to 196 😭 sad because I'm getting old & plus I can't sleep throughout the night & don't have energy for working out, maybe it was the CBS that was helping plus then I was a vegetarian

Being comfortable in rush-hour traffic. I had a sever phobia of driving and didn't get my license until I was 21. I then got in an accident and totaled my car, but I knew if I didn't start driving again soon, my fear would get worse and I'd never drive. I've now gotten to a point where it doesn't bother me to be in busy traffic, and I drive on turnpikes and highways with confidence (okay, so there's one on-ramp I avoid 😅). Do it scared. You'll get there.

Hi everyone. Iam new here. Anyone had triple bypass surgery? I did just Dec. 2023 and I'm healing. Anyone experience bad depression and emotional issues?

When my son graduated High School while battling severe depression, social anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. I'm so proud of him. Now age 20, working for a major theme park, and getting healthier every day.

I've had lots of proud moments. However, the proof only hangs on the walls of my halls and no where else

My BA in sociology and about to enter graduate school to become a psychotherapist.

When I decided not to give up getting better.

I received employee of the year within a year and a half after I was hired.

I did a taster session at my local British Heart Foundation Furniture shop, but it didn't feel right to me, although I did enjoy it, it didn't help with my confidence much and I felt like I was being ignored unless I shouted a member of staff. I was even getting a bit confused with the task. Hopefully when I am able to do so I am hoping to volunteer at my local hospital, but I've got a few things I need to do first before I can start my volunteering there. I felt more like me when I was talking to my volunteer coordinator at my local hospital than I did at the shop.

Realizing I'd come out the other side of a months-long bout of paranoid suicidal psychosis, to a point where I felt like me again, and that I'd made it out alive. I had been able to hold on to a tiny, miniscule sliver of hope, even in my darkest hour.

Realizing I'd been over a year clean of self harm. I would normally say my niece being born, but I wouldn't have even been able to be there for her had I kept self harming, because the more I went the deeper I'd go. I knew I had to decide if I wanted to be comfortable in my habit and die young, or give it up and have a better chance at making it to things like births and meeting new people. My proudest moment is realizing I didn't just make the choice to stop, but that I'd made it over a year

as someone who has asd and mental health challenges, I managed to get my papers to say I completed my double degree in O.T. and Physio. Now, I am looking at completing my speech therapy.
