what are the cons to getting professionally diagnosed? im self diagnosed and not sure if i want to get diagnosed medically, so im trying to weigh the pros and cons. for example, i know it can be harder to get a job.

      It can prevent you from fostering or adopting kids, or in some cases it can prevent you form moving to another country. So if either of those are in your plans you might not want to.

      I can’t really think of any cons because the only people who will know about the diagnosis is you, the diagnoser, and the insurance companies. Employers won’t know about any diagnosis unless you choose to share it, so you’re all good if that’s a concern :)

      I actually went in thinking I had ADHD and i sound out that im on the spectrum. I was definitely shocked but at the same time I finally figured out why I had trouble with being social and tend to punish myself when i didnt do something right or would think everything is my fault.
