Propranolol for Anxiety: Anyone Tried It?

Has anyone else taken propranolol for anxiety? I currently take Effexor daily, but my psychiatrist just prescribed propranolol that I can add on as needed when the physical sensations of anxiety get really bad. I want to see if it helps, but am also scared I might become too reliant. Has anyone else tried it? Thoughts/experiences?

of course it differs for everyone, but for me the most bothersome is chest tightness, shortness of breath, headaches, and crying a lot

I took it for a little while and definitely helped with keeping my heart from racing and having shortness of breath, heart palpitations, ect.

I take it as needed it really helps you not to get all worked up it works best if you take it before something that you know triggers your anxiety and also can help calm it down too
