I've been taking Aldendronate, once weekly for about 6 years. It's not a big deal. No side effects to speak of and no further bone density showing up. I fall flat on my butt a couple of times a month, but I've never had a fracture. Either I'm very lucky or the medicine is really working. I'm all for alternative medicine but some times I think I really don't want to take a chance with something that's not a proven drug. Something that's supposed to be good for XXX is nice as a supplement but it also might be letting major bone loss go untreated. Once bone loss is happening you can't get it back especially if you're older, like past menopause. Of course you know your body but bone loss is permanent. I wouldn't risk it for any alternative that doesn't have hard scientific evidence and effects behind it.
