So my doctor did actually prescribe me ER Adderall for my common diagnosis of idiopathic hypersomnia however I became tolerant to it rather quickly (increasing my dose every 3-6 months) at which point it was exacerbating my ADD symptoms ironically so I am now actually in Vyvanse and I personally love it

Yes, it is normal for doctors to prescribe stimulant medications like Adderall or Concerta for idiopathic hypersomnia. These medications are used to help improve wakefulness and focus. However, the effectiveness of these medications can vary from person to person, so it's important to discuss your concerns with your doctor if you don't feel much of a change.
