Is pregabalin effective for anxiety relief?

I take it for epilepsy, which is it's primary use I believe

I take 4 pregablin a day for back pain. 2 in the morning and 2 at night. I have terrible anxiety which the Pregablin does nothing to help.

I could see why as it potentiates GABA, a neurotransmitter that encourages relaxation, but pregabalin isn't indicated for anxiety (it would be prescribed off-label for anxiety). For me, I think it does help, but I take it for fibromyalgia primarily. I imagine antidepressants would work better for anxiety treatment as they're indicated to treat anxiety. Pregabalin is categorized as an anticonvulsant.
