Does anyone else with POTS feel shakey, weak, tired, and have their heart beat go crazy after eating? Sometimes I also get really sick at my stomach or get a stomach ache as well.

Yes absolutely. Some days I have to consider if it’s worth eating to get through the rest of my workday or if it will be better to wait.

I do but I also have gasteroparesis. The blood is flowing to the stomach to aid with digestion so it's best to wait before moving around

Thank you Messymexi. May I ask how you knew you have gasteroparesis?

I always had stomach problems growing up but they got really bad and I couldn't keep food in anymore, threw up liquids and was in pain when I could eat. After many tests, about 40 pound weight loss and a 4 hour gastric emptying test from the Cleveland Clinic is what caught it. Hope that helps 💕

It’s pretty common for digestive issues to go hand in hand with Dysautonomia. It’s because our bodies work extra hard to focus on digesting by diverting our circulation towards our stomachs and digestive organs. You may feel chilly or have cold external limbs as a result, as well as an accelerated heart rate. I recommend paying special attention to your diet and working out a comfortable eating schedule. Larger meals in close frequency can heavily increase symptoms; this can be combated by having larger meals spaced out or by eating smaller frequent meals. Taking time to relax and digest after meals will help your body circulate better and reduce irritation. Hope this helps!

Oh yes. I am miserable after eating a lot

Thank you all for your answers. Sometimes it's not even after eating a lot. I definitely do it after eating to much though. Maybe I just need to figure out what it is that I'm eating that is causing it? 🤔

Yes it’s because the blood is diverting to your GI system - I’ve been told to wear an abdominal binder to help

Yes me! It seems to be aggravated even more by high sodium foods, foods with a lot of preservatives, and dairy products.
