I'm 42 and I'm pretty sure I've been going through menopause for at least the past 2 years

a period that's lasting that long could be something more serious and/or long term. what imaging did they do at the hospital?

@wise they did ultrasound inside and out and urine and blood everything came back normal

@missyg a pelvic MRI or CT scan may reveal more than an ultrasound can. urine and blood usually come back normal for reproductive pain/problems, it's mostly just to see if you're pregnant I guess. I had the in and out ultrasounds done too and was told by ER staff that I had cysts on my right ovary, but when my gyno got a look at it and I followed up with him, he explained that ER docs have to chart things differently sometimes so they can order the medications they need (in my case it was pain relief, my ER doc couldn't get me pain meds for just dominant follicles, but he could if he found endometriomas, so that's how they were charted)
