I'm almost certain I have Bipolar I, because I had a 1-2 month state of pure mania with delusions a year ago. The psychotic symptoms went away since then, until recently. I've been having some minor hallucinations, such as hearing soft knocking on my door when nobody is there and seeing bugs that disappear or move in unnatural ways. My paranoia is also very bad- it takes just one second of eye contact between me and a stranger in a Walmart to make me worry that I'm going to get murdered. I see something strange on the road? I worry it's a pipebomb. But it's not enough for it to be a delusion, because I understand that they are irrational fears after the initial anxiety. I believe I'm in a mixed episode right now, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily intense (or perhaps it is and it feels oddly normal like the last psychotic break?). My main question is: Is it possible to have psychotic symptoms when mood isn't extremely intense in Bipolar I? or could I have/be developing something like schizophrenia. Thank you for reading!
