Looking for Positivity in Cancer Treatment

I am only just now getting into the healing process. A lot of the questions here are focusing on side effects and complications. These are concerning problems for sure but they are making me nervous. Does anyone have anything good to say about any part of their treatments so far?

Thanks for letting me know the side effects. I will make sure to have a driver for the first few times. — This may be silly to ask but what does remission feel like? Before I had an IBD I had IBS. I’m scared to get too hopeful but has anyone felt normal after their medication? I am used to pain so it doesn’t necessarily feel like pain but there was one day I felt normal which made me feel amazing. Do I get this feeling back?

Yes! I use Remnicade, it’s an infusion so of course the only negative is they have to place an IV in me :( but, for the longest time I used Apriso, which I took 4 of them every morning and it was no fun and my disease flared back up in a matter of months. 7 months of an endless battle 2 blood transfusions, and tons of broth, I changed doctors and my doctor introduced me to Remnicade. This is a treatment once every 2 months and since I have been diagnosed with UC, When I used apriso I had a flare up twice, and after using Remnicade, I have officially been in remission for an entire year now! And there’s no way to forget your meds this way. It’s an amazing medication with very few side effects besides being super hungry and sleepy all the time when you first get it!!

Entyvio has out me into remission! Humira also did but I developed psoriasis from it (which is really rare). I recommend both meds!

I have a friend who takes entyvio and is in remission. I take Apriso and that has put me in remission as well! It’s a process for sure to wait for meds to work but there are lots of great meds out there! Sending you my best

That is great! My doctor is going to start me on entyvio but Dr. Google explains them to be very similar. Thank you for sharing.
