Platelet Count Drop After Retuximab Treatment

I just finished retuximab 1 month ago and my platelets went up for a few weeks but dropped to 37 today. I feel lost and defeated and I don't know what to do.

Hey! I’m sorry no one has responded to this. First of all, let me just say that ITP that’s not responsive to treatment is HARD. Not only are you sacrificing months of your time on medications that make you feel like garbage, but the mental toll of it all (and it being no responsive) is a huge hurdle. Not to mention the actual symptoms of having low platelets (like debilitating fatigue) and being forced to sacrifice “risky activities” like exercise, if that was previously a part of your routine. You are AMAZING for making it this far. You’re also in a young age bracket like me. I had ITP for the first time at 21. For me, dealing with ITP has been one of the scariest things I’ve felt with. I went from having an abhorrent fear of needles to blood work several times a week, and eventually Rituximab treatments. Just know that this is super hard and no one is expecting you to process or handle it a certain way. I hope you have people in your life who you can count on and I’m rooting for you! (:
