Are Physical Therapists Not Listening to Their Patients?

Does anyone else think physical therapists don’t listen and push you to do what you can’t do and ultimately hurt you?

I’m sick and tired of always getting hurt. I haven’t had one that hasn’t hurt me in someway. I’m 35 and they gave up now so hopefully nobody else comes

I just had another one hurt me she messed up my whole left side she was supposed to come to look at my bathroom so we can make it more assessable. She didn’t do that. Her boss said she doesn’t know what she’s doing. Why in the heck is she allowed to touch ppl then. And she didn’t seem like she was all there. And she was in her seventies seriously!

I just got released from pt bc after three appts they had to realize I can’t do anything anymore so they stopped coming. I’m also now released from OT. I only have a nurse coming once a week. I wish I could just tell them not to do something bc it hurts, or I can’t do it. But they never have listened to me ever in my 34 years of life.

Somewhat! But I always tell them that I can’t do something or that it hurts and I’m not going to do that.

I told this last one she was hurting me 9times. She wasn’t even supposed to touch me. She talked super fast and didn’t finish any of her sentences. I called the boss and they said she was supposed to do anything she wasn’t even supposed to be at my house on her own.

It depends on your therapist but it also depends on you. If you have a good therapist and go in willing to push yourself it should gel well together

Even when it’s broken bones and you ultimately end up bed ridden and don’t “gain” anything?

I don’t agree. It’s made my situation much more bearable

yes!! definitely!! ive had one or two good physical therapists, but the majority just put me in more pain over time. even when i did end up stronger, walking and living a normal life was too painful for days after each appointment
