Can anyone leave tips for simple personal care and hygiene? I have a very hard time showering, brushing my teeth, cleaning my room, and even actually getting dressed in the mornings. Anyone know how to help this?

@Cursednoodles check out Habitica! It's an app that turns your tasks into quests like an adventure game. I personally have a large d20 that I roll for initiative on my daily tasks lol! If I get a 1 I don't have to do it 😋 And when I successfully complete a task I reward myself. Things like coloring in a coloring book, having a small sweet treat, playing a phone game for a set amount of time, or even taking a short nap.

As for cleaning my room, I do a little at a time. If I make it like a game I can get a lot done at one time.

I have the same problem. Sometimes I use flushable wipes to clean my body at least the underarms, between my legs and the inside of my legs.

For hygiene there is always a way to make it simpler. They even have hands free toothbrushes which is a godsend. If youre willing to splurge a water pick would also work. Just washing your face or kinda sponge bathing it with a rag can also go a long way. I know someone who doesnt let themselves listen to their favorite podcast unless theyre in the bath so perhaps something like that as well? For cleaning your room i honestly believe having a place for everything is essential, read it in a swedish death cleaning book its a good concept, so if you dont have a clothes hamper get one and if you dont have a laundry basket for the clean clothes get one and if you dont have a little trashcan in your bedroom to prevent trash get one. If you have issues with dishes in your room get ziploc bags. Keeping yourself healthy and safe is aleays more important than a chore. So if you dont have the energy to bring it to the sink zip it up. Itll decrease the speed of it getting gross or moldy and you wont have to breathe it in. Maybe even get a food tray to set them on so itd be easier to carry many at once to the sink when you feel ready. Hope some of this helps. Hope ur well.

It helped me to break things into smaller tasks and only do what I had the energy for. Not feeling brushing my teeth? Rinsing with mouthwash is good. Not wanting to get dressed? Try changing into different PJs or lounge-wear, or even just new underwear and put the old clothes back on. Once it gets easier to do one step, add a second one, and so on
