Looking for advice on pernicious anemia diagnosis and treatment

Anyone with pernicious anemia able to share more about how they were diagnosed and their treatment experience? I have incredibly low B12 levels despite weekly injections and not testing for the intrinsic factor. Are there other conditions besides pernicious anemia that can impact absorption? I’m seeing a hematologist in a few weeks.

I take injections. The oral route didn’t work for me.

I was tested for the intrinsic factor and it was positive

Can you take oral b12 or injections only?

Oops intrinsic factor antibodies

My rheumatologist ran the test for intrinsic antibodies and I was definitely positive. I get B12 shots weekly. Pernicious anemia is strongly associated with folic acid deficiency. I have both. I’m exhausted. I read that it takes 3-6 months to recover from the folic acid deficiency.

I get injections once a month. I didn't know until a stomach biopsy. It has worked to keep my levels stable but I'm on my third or fourth year of them. I hate them, and have no change in energy but recently my thyroid has mild hypothyroidism. But my nurse who gives me the shots said it was okay to add a b12 supplement if I wanted. It just made me sick. I think it was too much on my already weak stomach. But if you do, get the ones that melt in your mouth. Since our bodies can't digest b12 that is the only way it will get to your blood stream
