Getting Permanent Birth Control: A Relief and a Challenge

Today I spoke with an obgyn and discussed my desire for permanent birth control. I was prepared to fight and cry and do all of these things because I'm 31 and have no kids. I mentioned my uterus has gone through hell and it's causing compounding issues with my interstitial cystitis and she was super supportive and understanding and provided me a lot of good feedback. My plan to move forward with tubal ligation and placement of an IUD is on its way. And I just found out my insurance is going to cover this... I'm blown away. I'm so relieved I just need to get one more record put together and get an ultrasound. But I wanted to share the news with people who won't make me feel bad. I haven't told my narcissist boyfriend yet, because I know he's going to make it about him. I have been working on detaching from him and brought up his abusive tendencies and the messed up stuff he said about ripping out my implant. I was scared of what it might do to affect the conversation but she seemed even more eager to help me accomplish this.

❤️ I am happy for you and doing what is right for you and noone else, especially your boyfriend. I had to fight, go to a new Dr, and go in front of a medical review board and wait 30 days before they let me have the complete hysterectomy I wanted and needed. You are your best advocate and keep at it 💞
