Do any of you have Periventricular brain lesions? My neurologist decided to go with a fibromyalgia dx instead of MS despite my raynaud's, tingling hands, and lesions. Is fibro associated with brain lesions too?

@saltybutsweet_22 Doctors 🙄 … smh your chronic migraines are likely stemming from FB or some other autoimmune disorder. Same boat here.

Are the lesions anterior @saltybutsweet_22? Cleveland clinic says that lesions from migraines are located on the outer sides of the brain and that migraine induced lesions don't appear on the center of the brain

I have brain lesions that my neurologist says are just from my chronic migraines....🤔

I have all those same symptoms but my MRIs showed no lesions on my brain. My mom has MS and we have similar symptoms. I would request an MRI

I totally understand! It can be hard going through this and easy to doubt ourselves. Especially if the medical professionals that are supposed to be there to help us are feeding into those doubts. It can be isolating. Making an already scary experience worse. But you are valid! Your experience is valid. Your thoughts are valid. Your feelings are valid. And your pain is valid. Take care of yourself! I’m rooting for you ❤️

Yikes, that’s called medical gaslighting and that’s very dangerous. You are not crazy, you are not wrong. You have a right to another opinion. You have a right to advocate for yourself. I hope you are able to get to another neurologist soon. I’m proud of you for trusting yourself to say that something wasn’t right about that! You know your body and you have a right to good treatment. I hope you get it!

💕 Thank you for the reply! I had been on the fence about seeing another neurologist; he made a really good first impression but as time went on it just got more and more strange. I remember calling and asking about my arm dropping suddenly and his only comment was " that's not a symptom of migraine " - like, no kidding doc. And now he's claiming he didn't recommend a yearly MRI even though my mom was with me in the room when he said it, so I know I'm not remembering wrong.

I would go see a new neurologist. Raynaud’s phenomenon, yes. Brain lesions, no. I would go advocate for yourself somewhere new, to someone who knows what they are talking about. Brain lesions should be taken seriously. I’m upset with the doctor, not you. I hate when they are just like “hm you have x, don’t worry about y, see ya”
