There are several types of PCOS. The insulin resistance type is the most common one. Your doctor should test your insulin levels, and if it’s high it’s probably it. There are other types for PCOS, which your doctor should look into once ruling out the insulin resistance type

Find a Doctor who actually knows what they're talking about. Most Doctors don't know alot about PCOS. It does not have a one-size-fits-all cure. Definitely find a hormone specialist, they'll take some blood, and should be able to recommend what to do to help out from there.
