Concerns about Accessing Contraceptives for Hormonal Regulation

To those in the US with PCOS and treated with any type of contraceptive: Hello! Just joined a few days ago. Anyways, is anyone getting a little worried or even scared about what yesterday's decision from the Supreme Court could mean for us? I have no more refills on my pill because they have to be refilled again at my annual appointment coming up in about 2 months, which worked out just fine last year of course and it may work again but who knows in another year? Just hoping I'm not the only one who is worried about what this could mean in terms of accessing contraceptives for hormonal regulation. I definitely don't want to return to before I found out about my PCOS and was on nothing. I was miserable every month and was honestly a pain in the butt due to that excess testosterone...

      Yes I am actually surprised by all those meds together. Also a bioidentical hormone replacer called biote is available.

      I'm terrified that they're going to overturn Griswold v. Connecticut. I use birth control for PCOS & Endo but also use it to prevent myself from having hormones make POTS worse so I don't faint constantly, and to prevent pregnancy because I likely couldn't survive one due to vEDS, chronically low blood volume, chronic nutrients deficiencies, etcetera. Massive amounts of stress increase my risk of aneurysm, stroke, and organ rupture so we try to keep my pain down. I don't know that I can survive if Griswold v. Connecticut is overturned. I'm getting my passport monday, working my butt off to be able to afford plane Monday, and am trying to figure out if I will be able to immigrate in the future. I've been working on some of that since 2014 but unfortunately didn't finnish college so immigration will be difficult.

      i am absolutely terrified for the possibility. pcos combined with my adenmyosis and familial blood disorder have caused me immense pain and uncontrollable bleeding that was only stopped by birth control in hopes of me having biological children one day (i am 100% going to adopt even if i have bio kids). while i am terrified i have already made up my mind that if contraception is outlawed i am taking myself to get my iud removed then head for the steps of the supreme court to stain them with the blood shed they created. if they want to control my body so badly, they can have it once i’m dead.

        @SpaceEggy without birth control, my only option to be able to live is a hysterectomy. and i highly doubt legislators would be like “yeah we understand you hav a medical issue. remove those parts!” because i’m so young and “fertile”. “noooooo you’re so young and fertile :( don’t lose you incubator…. just your life”

          @SpaceEggy I think that's an excellent plan but I really hope it doesn't come to that for you. I have very similar thoughts on my personal plans in that situation. I'm trying to find out if my family could take any level of legal action if I die without access to appropriate Healthcare and treatment. My parents are also planning to pay for an autopsy in attempts to help understand the many chronic illnesses that I have. If I die because of the roe ruling or because Griswold v. Connecticut is overturned I'm having them agree to send results of my autopsy to every justice, politician, and news outlet they can prior to making it public on all social media platforms, and posting it on every possible surface near the supreme court building.

      Thank you all so much for the replies and sharing a little bit of your stories. For all our sakes and everyone else with similar cases or those who are just scared in general for their loved ones, etc., I really hope it does not come down to that!!

      I am not sure how this will be affected but an alternative treatment is metformin and spironolactone uses for the same purpose. I take those to control all that.

        @Ptrust I also take met and spiron for PCOS on top of hormonal birth control. Could one just use the two former?
