Hey everyone! I was just diagnosed with PCOS. Have had irregular period my whole life. I was put on birth control. Does anyone have experience with this and is it worth taking it?

I have had pcos for a while with my crazy irregular periods. The pill didn't work for me but I got the birth control implant and I am so happy I did. I don't have blood just moods changes occasionally and some headaches. So I think birth control is good if you have the right one for you. It can be scary at first having to figure out what to do. There are some problems that ate hard but after a while there not to bad especially if you get it under control

I’ve been on birth control pills for over 7 years now after being diagnosed with PCOS and it’s worked great for me! I hardly notice my symptoms anymore, and I haven’t really experienced any side effects. However, I have heard people say that it’s better to go the route of diet changes based on the specific type of PCOS you have. It really depends on your preference, but personally, I never had any issues with birth control.

I used to have regular periods until I started having sex. We didn't know I had PCOS until I had my 4th miscarriage and the doctor figured it out. However, when I took birth control, I used an IUD, pill and condoms. I got pregnant on all of them. Plus, I would bleed for 3wks or more on the pill and the IUD. In addition to ending up with severe copper poisoning from the IUD.

I’m in the same boat. I hope someone can help us out!
