Does anybody else pass out after eating a meal? It's like my body can only do one thing at a time, so when it's digesting, I'm just down for the count. Weirdly I also have severe sleep issues where I just never feel rested. Dunno if that's related though.

Oh 100% I have to lie down after just a few bites when my health is at its worst. It sucks. I believe it’s because the blood rushes to your stomach to digest the food, taking it away from our precious heads! Which causes the fatigue and lightheadedness. Try sticking to easy digestible foods like oatmeal, chicken, salmon, apple sauce, and bananas. Small meals frequently throughout the day is helpful too! Takes time and trial and error to adjust, but you’ll get there!

I often feel very tired and even sick to my stomach after a meal, especially if I have to be up doing things (like when I'm at work). And I also have sleep issues. The best thing I can recommend is eat smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day so it's not such a load of your digestive system at one time, and then also give yourself time to rest (even if it's just sitting quietly) after eating

Some days lunch in particular takes me out for a couple of hours, I feel awful and all I can do is rest/nap and try to wait it out. Other days I'm fine, not sure if this reaction is triggered by specific foods but it is certainly very annoying!! Digestion is just really hard on the body I suppose Also unrefreshing sleep is actually part of the diagnostic criteria for ME/CFS so its just part of this disease unfortunately :/

✋ thats me 💯. I can't eat heavy meals or I'm seriously down for the count. I also sleep like crap and can sleep for HOURS and hours and don't feel rested at all.

Some people have reported feeling extremely tired after finishing a meal, as if they've used up all their energy. Others with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) have mentioned feeling shaky, weak, and having an accelerated heart rate after eating. This is because the body works extra hard to focus on digestion by diverting circulation towards the stomach and digestive organs. It's recommended to pay special attention to diet and work out a comfortable eating schedule to help manage these symptoms.
