Dealing with a Partner Who Doesn't Understand Anxiety

Ive been with my boyfriend now fiancé for almost 7 years and I have gone through the same exact thing!! Heres what Ive learned helps…the fact he wants to help is great but may be hard on him since its not always something he can fix. Best thing he can do is listen and be there mentally, emotionally, physically when possible. Telling him how you feel and letting him know or realize its okay if he doesn’t understand helps he will begin to learn how anxiety and depression works for people including you over time. If he can have patience with you, you are set! I have found this very very important including forgiveness on his side if you cant or don’t do his suggestions because it doesn’t realistically work for you. My boyfriend is very nonemotional and im very emotional and mentally unstable, anxiety and depression runs in my family and deff my brain and his family refused to believe its more than an emotion as far as I know. I have noticed venting helps the most but im learning i need to cut back a little because im learning even though he doesnt show me or always tell me his feelings and emotions it may be upsetting to him that he cant help me. I will deff ask for his side of this and add another comment!
