I am in such a low place mentally. I feel paralyzed by fear but somehow I keep function enough to go to work but I get home and immediately become dysfunctional. All I can do is lay down from mental exhaustion. It’s so ridiculous! I want to get all these things done in my mind but can’t seem to execute. I feel like a failure.

Please don't feel like a failure. It takes a lot mentally to push yourself. I had those days trust me. What helps if I just do something like yoga, go for a walk. Don't think about it and just do it. I hope this helps

@pinky3 thank you! I have been trying to take more walks lately!

@Littlegirlblue that's good. I haven't walked as much lately. I am guilty of that. I try to do yoga and meditation. Or what helps a lot is painting. I love painting.

I can relate. When I’m in depression, I go to bed at 9pm and try to get up by 11:00. I struggle to shower so I’ll get in the pool. Having supportive friends and family is my help.

I feel you. I am the same very much so lately. I slept almost 12 hrs last night. All I want to do when I get home is sleep. I feel bad not interacting much with my kids. 😮‍💨

Add 13yrs of rape and abuse, 2 divorces, kids gone, no family members (not even one) and I've pushed all my friends away bc of my fainting spells, my bf works out of town 28 days a month... I'm all alone and have a hard time convincing myself to live another day. I'm 35. I guess it will nvr get better if it hasn't by this point.

Why do you feel so drained? Make yourself do small things. Things that you love to do. Maybe you need to meditate. Put some soft music on and sit there. Talk to family.

@charity78 thanks for the feedback! I think it’s a combination of a lot of things! I need to implement things like a better diet exercise and meditate. You are absolutely correct! But I dont feel like I can talk to family. I am starting therapy on Friday. I know therapy is not a cure but I hope it will help!

I am the same way. I just have a lot going on in my life with my boyfriend and my oldest daughter. I can’t take it anymore. I just want to run away but feel like no one would miss me.

You're not a failure. I feel the same way pretty much all the time. I feel like working takes all my energy and all my mental band width. It's ok to feel that way. It's depressing though too because then we often end up doing nothing, when the things that we want to be doing would have made us happier but we can't get started doing them. My therapist gave me a great idea. Just commit to 5 minutes, or 10 minutes. Whatever it is you want to do but just can't start, schedule it. Give yourself a specific time to start and commit to just a few minutes of whatever it is that makes you happy. A 10 minute walk is better than no walk, 10 minutes drawing or cooking or whatever sparks you. Often you'll find that you don't want to stop after 10 minutes. I don't know if that helps you at all, we're all different. I know you can find your happiness. 😊 Also, breathe. For real. It's very centering.

I do the same basically. I keep on keeping on even though I'm not quite sure how. I believe I am characteristic for neurotic. I see my psychiatrist in about 2 weeks for hopefully a med change. I am working matter of fact I'm a caregiver of all things. I'm almost scared to show up at my clients house every morning cuz I don't hide my emotions well at all and I know it shows. Thanks
