Can't Sleep Alone Due to Panic Attacks

I can’t even sleep in my own bed; I have to sleep with my mom I keep getting bad panic attacks in my sleep or before. Medicine has been changed but it’s not working. Feeling like I’m circling the drain.

Thank you both so much, I’m prescribed with 2 anxiety meds as needed and a benzo for insomnia. Unfortunately it doesn’t always work. I will talk to my doctor about other methods. Honestly knowing I’m not alone helps a lot ❤️

I know exactly what this feels like. I’ve been having that same problem since I was about 3 years old. Fast forward 20 years and I’ve got a better grip on it but it still eats me up at night every now and then. I agree with the person who suggested speaking with a doctor about certain meds. I know that sometimes our brains are so hard to work with and it takes something external to help us cope. There is nothing wrong with this, as long as any external methods are practiced responsibly. I hope this helps a little ❤️

I have a certain anxiety I get at night, like irrational worries. Have you tried hypnotic sleeping meds? Like ambien, lunesta, or sonata? I’ve found that these are great for me because my anxiety keeps me up and they make me go right to sleep without all the scary thoughts. Some doctors don’t like to prescribe them though because they’re considered addictive. Hope this helps!
