Dealing with Panic Attacks at School

what should i do with a panic attack at school? (if i couselor or such is possibly unavailable)

You can maybe go to the bathroom to have a moment by yourself, find a teacher you trust or if all else “fails” go to the nurse. You can at least lie down if that’s helpful or maybe even go home. :)

for me i go to the bathroom and run cold water over my hands and tell myself i am safe. i’m in no danger. it’s just my brain sensing danger that is not there.

I talked to my counselors when I got a chance and they gave me a pass that would let me go to a quiet room by myself and calm down at any point in the day. That helped me a lot in school. If that isn’t an option, a small comfort item like a stress ball or stuffed animal might help stop one if you feel it starting. Hope this helps!
