anybody have some good pain management ideas? recently. I'm going through a flare up and it seems like nothing is working. would love some new ideas other than ibuprofen and hot baths. I do smoke occasionally to help regulate my pain but I try to keep it only for my really bad days. I just don't know what to do right now

I’ve noticed that the cold makes my body hurt worse when going through a flare up so I bundle up and keep as warm as possible. Then I either tune the heater up in the house or use a heating pad. I also have recently started to massage the areas that hurt with icy hot or something similar to it, and it helps so much. When the heat isn’t helping the icy hot is what I turn to. I rub it on my skin and within 2 minutes I feel relief

@Kaislyn thank you so much! I live in a cold climate so that could totally be a part of the flare! Gotta try the icy hot!

For me, heat pads, cannabis, compression (KT tape can help with this), CBD gel, and ibuprofen gel are probably the main ones. I hope there's something there that can help you. And at the risk of sounding like one of the bad doctors we all run into - distraction can be really helpful, when able to engage in it of course. Mindfulness really hasn't helped when my pain is bad but movies, nice sensory activities (such as lotion or kinetic sand), and podcasts can help me at least have something else to think about, even if it doesn't reduce pain 🫶
