What do you guys do when you’re in so much pain that it’s truly overwhelming you? I’m currently fighting tears because of my leg pain. I already tried my usual topicals.

i totally feel you, sometimes i just cry and cry over how much pain i am in. i try and just rest and distract myself the best i can from the pain (watch tv or something else). but i normally ice my legs or hips, and also hot baths help.

I totally get you. I went to an orthopedic today and he told me that because I have EDS that I basically am just gonna have to live with my knees progressing with arthritis and even though he thinks I need surgery, he doesn’t want to or think I should. I think distraction is key. I try to watch something that I know I’ll laugh at. Remember not to push yourself too hard.

@SaraDibby i was referred to sports medicine by my orthopedist, and my sports medicine doc told me that he didn’t feel comfortable enough to do surgery on my hips (i have labral tears in both), and that he would refer me to another surgeon in Columbia, South Carolina. he said that either he or only one other doctor in the entire country MIGHT be able to do surgery, and the other one is at Stanford University in California.

@SaraDibby And it sucks with the whole medicine not working, most of us (Eds) are like that.

I'm experiencing that right now. I'm just sitting in a position thats most comfortable for me, if you don't have anything like Tylenol or Advil there's nothing I can exactly help with (sadly).

@Uncanny yeah, those things don’t help me sadly. That’s why I want to talk to my pain management team soon about it
