Was just watching a movie at the theaters and it stressed me out because it was getting loud so I got overwhelmed and started feeling uncomfortable, so I walked out so I can drink some water and be peaceful. I don’t know why this is happening to me but I feel myself getting overstimulated then panicking lately. Is it because of the pandemic and staying in my house too often? How can I fix this?

@RoxieAnn if for some reason you can't avoid a 3d movie (friends/family insist) you should look into 2d 3d glasses. They are made by Hank Green because of motion sickness

I often get overwhelmed at the movies, I have discovered that it could be the volume. If that is also the case for you I would suggest high-fidelity ear plugs. I got a pair for concerts and absolutely love them. It's just like turning the volume down.

@ATrainwreck I'll have to try that. I also can't stand 3d movies. I get motion sickness

Yeah, the movies have been bothering me too. Just had to take the kids to JP. I hated it.

I have always had the issue with sound. I can listen to some music loud but others not at all. It's the same way with tv and even people talking. I usually step away for a few minutes and attempt to come back or avoid the situation all together. I'm sure either way is correct but it works for me.

@JesseC thanks! I ended up stepping away for about 30 mins then coming back. After I took a breather, I was fine to watch the rest of the movie.
