it’s super important to find a psychiatrist that isn’t pushy & that listens to ALL of your specific symptoms before prescribing anything. i had one that put me on zoloft for 4 years as a kid & despite me saying i didn’t like the way it made me feel she wouldn’t allow me to stop taking it. she eventually added wellbutrin to counteract the emotional numbness i got from zoloft instead of allowing me to stop taking it. i eventually had to get off of it myself without advice when i was 17 & the brain shocks were horrible. i think since i was put on it so young it really affected my development & now i have issues with returning to that zombie like state & some sexual issues. i call my brain zoloft soup now bc it changed so much. i really think more kids should be in therapy & thoroughly listened to & cared about by professionals bc it can be so dangerous to mess w brain chemistry
