Hello. I'm brand new here and giving this app a whirl. I have been diagnosed with both ADHD-Combo Type and complex-PTSD. I began a new relationship with someone last August 2021 after being in a 12-year intense Narcissistic relationship that ended with me feeling "feral", the best word I can describe it. My current relationship is so much more wholesome than I honestly ever have been; however, it has also made me realize how much emotional baggage, wounds, and trauma my past relationships have done to me, specifically my most recent 12-year one. I have found I have such a lack of trust in just about anything. Past trauma, I have found, has done quite a lot of damage to me with trust and in feeling extremely insecure. I am fighting so very hard not to allow this damage to effect my present relationship. My medication alone does not seem to be helping. What alternative treatments has anyone used that has helped them significantly in similar situations?

      🙏 I've had PTSD undiagnosed for years ever since I was raped when I was 17 after that it was just abuse and more abuse and more abuse I'm just looking for a way to cope better with the things that just keep happening to me I'm not sure if my picker is broken or what but I seem to be pretty strong mentally on the outside anyway on the inside I'm screaming and just absolutely dying

      EMDR and IFS therapies have helped with my CPTSD. I take Concerta/Ritalin for ADHD and other meds for bipolar

        @Corgi.mom.94 What is IFS therapy?

      Complex trauma is usually treated with therapy, not with medication alone. It might be helpful for you to see a therapist/counselor to help work through what you're describing.

        @Prismatic I am also in therapy. I am currently working with my counselor on Integrative Lifespan therapy, working through my timeline to accept things I had no control of and give myself grace. However, we have just started.

      What PTSD meds are you taking? I have PTSD as well but have no meds for it.

        @Journie I also take 30 mg Adderall Extended Release 1x/day and 20 mg Adderall (fast-acting) 1x/ day for my ADHD.

          @Blaiggerty me too but my insurance won’t approve both so I only take the Extended release adderall when I remember to take my medication. Other than that I smoke weed.

        @Journie I've been prescribed 20 mg Lexapro and 20 mg Abilify.
