Overcoming Depression: My Journey to Happiness

i am the happiest ive been in years. im eating 3 meals a day (AND SNACKS) and functioning without medication or therapy. i feel so loved and my relationships with my closest friends and my sister have improved so much this summer. im getting to be a teenager again, feeling my emotions, and regaining my confidence. when people say it gets better it DOES. if i had gone through with my plans i wouldn't have met the person im head over heels for, my best friend and gym partner, the nice woman in lush who gave me honey soap for free, my amazing coworkers who love me more than my parents do, or this version of myself. it's so fucking. cheesy but i am so happy and im so glad i didn't kill myself last year. it's taken so long but i am whole again and i can see a future past 20.

oh man getting past 20 is great, for me 25 was the real turning point. it's when your brain generally stops maturing and some stuff finalizes. both phases are super important and worth persevering for... ❤️ so proud of OP for making it so far

How do you remember to eat snacks? Do you carry them around with you wherever you go?

I ask because I'm constantly trying to put on weight, it's virtually impossible while breastfeeding

i have a lot of food aversions so i normally carry a bag of sugary snacks, hard candy, and a few protein bars to eat when im feeling a bit low. it's also a matter of not denying yourself things that look good! if you're out somewhere on the weekend or at the store and you see something that isn't crazy expensive and sounds really nice, DO IT. eating is self care!!
