Dealing with Anemia: Anyone Else Black Out?

I have very low iron levels, and I was wondering if anyone else with anemia struggles with like blacking out? Like not always straight up fainting but a lot of times my vision just fades to black for a little bit and I feel like I’m falling - I sit down every time cuz I know what it feels like when it’s about to happen.

This happened to me a lot before i started medication for my hemorrhagic anemia. It’s a lot like an intense vertigo right? If that’s the case there isn’t much that i can add besides avoiding environments that may trigger it (standing up quickly, staying in the sun too long, saunas, etc.) and making sure you’re aware of your surroundings when you “go down”

I don't have levels that low. Mine are arount 15 or so. I know what your talking about though. Drink a lot of water just to be safe, and maybe try adding iron rich foods to your diet. Personally, I make spinach shakes for lunch. It's helped me a lot. Message me if you want some recipies🤗

that happened to me when i was severely deficient. my level was 9 and normal is 30-100. i had to take iron 65mg/ferrous sulfate 325mg three times a day for a year and a half for my level to return to normal. even after all that, it’s still only 35.

I have the same problem, but it’s hard for me to take in iron because of my Crohn’s disease. I can’t take iron pills because they constipate me. I wish you luck💕
