What do people think of Mirtazapine to help with depression I have only just started them and just thought I would ask what others think about them? Sertraline was making me feel a lot worse.

I loved mirtazapine but my provider used it mostly for anxiety. It worked great for that. It didn't help me significantly with depression. I used duloxetine or fluoxetine for that mostly even though they work for anxiety too.

It helps after a few weeks. But the highest nightly dose realky helps sleep. But gives you cotton mouth in the morning

I have been on 30ml for roughly 10 year's and it does make me sleep better but I've tried a few attempts to stop taking it and I felt the worst I've ever felt in my life and I feel hungry constantly even when I've just finished a meal

My wife was on mirtazapine and it worked for quite a while her sleep improved her anxiety improved but all of a sudden she started to hallucinate and have insomnia so she had to come off it but she also takes fluoxetine as well

It's definitely helping with my sleep and less anxiety. It can take up to three months for any medication to work. I keep a journal every morning to keep track of how I'm feeling. It takes time, hang in there. I haven't noticed any weird side effects.

Different people have different experiences with Mirtazapine. Some find it helpful for depression, while others use it more for its effects on sleep and appetite. It's also mentioned that it might not be as effective for depression for some individuals and may require an additional medication like Lexapro.
