Well, when I pluck out non-head hair (sometimes appropriate, sometimes not) & the root comes out intact I do find it fascinating, but I just like to marvel at it in the light. As for my head hair, since childhood & even now I sometimes still get caught up in pulling on tufts of it at a time (specifically at the front of the crown of my head), but never to pull the hair out. I'll just be craving the burning-ish sensation that results from pulling on little bunches of it at a time.
