Has anyone had any luck with numbing cream or topical pain relief on HS flares?

I've tried aspercreme with lidocaine, works pretty fast, but be sure not to rub it over open wounds, as you probably already know, will hurt. Also I shower with hibiclens and body wash with hemp seed oil incorporated.

Sounds weird but Vicks rub surprisingly works. But! The most important thing is to use it BEFORE it’s open otherwise, not after!! Or you’ll have an early death (as in the pain would kill you) . That’s what works. Emuaid does too but not numbing.

One person mentioned using a topical concoction of gabapentin, lidocaine, and voltaren for sudden and bad flares. Another person suggested cortisone cream for cystic spots that need to drain.
