Struggling with a Noisy Mind

I feel like my mind is constantly suffocating me. I can't escape the constant stream of thoughts and just enjoy quietness. What helps you quiet your mind?

Hi everyone. I’m sorry to hear things are hard right now- I know it sounds unbelievable in the moment, but it will pass. It’s not forever. In the times where you can remember that, maybe it will help, and for when you can’t, my suggestion is to change your surroundings. In a warm, quiet room? Go outside (with a jacket) into the cold air and just breathe for a few minutes. I find the shock of the temp change to be really helpful. In a cold place already? Heat up a microwave safe cup of hot water/tea/cocoa and hold it gently in your hands. Let your body experience sensations that don’t need to be complicated. Hope this helps a little.

And consider a general anxiety medication- for me, taking one has significantly lessened the amount of time that I have those thoughts.

Going for a long walk or just sitting in a quiet place without doing anything helps me think all those annoying thoughts therefore at night I'm able to fall asleep easier.

Yoga/meditation. Never have I felt so at peace as when I am doing yoga or meditating. Doesn’t work for everyone but it’s worth a shot! (for those of us with little funds, there are some great and inexpensive meditation apps out there)
