Concerns about Nexplanon and PMDD

Getting Nexplanon for my symptoms next week and worried about if I have PMDD and how that’ll affect it.

It’s so hard to choose birth control because I was on the pill and it messed with my mood and made me feel flat. The patch has the same hormones so it was recommended I don’t use it and I really didn’t want an IUD. For reference I am 21 and I just wanted to regulate periods and mood swings from PMDD/hormonal imbalance. I also have depression so I get really sad but I don’t know if this is part of the hormonal imbalance.

there are progestin only pill options you could try prior to nexplanon to see if it’s a good fit 🙂

I had nexplanon for 3 yrs. My periods stayed the same, and it didn’t have hormones in it to regulate them. My moods were all over the place, I felt suicidal on my normal depression medication. It was a very taxing 3 yrs. I would never go back

Be careful with that one a friend of mine had it and it was very painful. I use Xulane it's the generic for orthoever patch. If you can do medical patch medicine I'd encourage you to try it. if you do try it be sure and clean your skin with an alcohol pad it doesn't say to do this but it does help. it helps it is here better
