Recently, I have been trying to focus on what the child version of me would want to do, and use that as a platform. I even changed my major because of it. I went undiagnosed for so long. It feels like it is at least a start to getting proper treatment.

It's a hard thing to deal with. There is no doubt about that. I cope by filling my time. It's the hardest thing. Even right now I'm sitting on the couch and if my brain had its way I'd be thinking about lots of worry filled stuff. But instead I distract myself. I personally watch TV, play video games, and play with my dog. Something I've learned lately though is it doesn't help to dwell on things. My best friend and my therapist have both tried to get it through my head. I'm not going to change the past so don't try. I have to find what I like to do and that's what I'm working on now. With BPD often comes issues with identity and I'm no exceptions. I don't quite know/understand who I am. So figuring out what makes me happy is difficult. But I hold on to each small thing that does make me happy and use it as ammo for next time I'm in distress.
