Newbie seeking advice on moving forward from trauma

hi! I'm extremely new to this and have no idea about the social etiquette (ie real names, personal info, etc). I guess: my mental health journey has been lengthy and varied. I am an extremely self aware person and I'm trying to step away from leaning on that and instead find new ways to move forward. - with years of trauma, I've never not been in survival mode and I'm tired of having it disrupt my life. I'm looking to find ways to soothe my inner child and tell my brain and body that we don't have to be on high alert anymore. in general I'm a very positive person and I try my hardest to give advice/listen/etc without projecting or stepping out of bounds. my philosophy is that we're all here to try to bring a little goodness to the world (and in general- I feel better when I'm giving good than bad). *I am currently going through a breakup that is really rough for me emotionally. for context it was a relationship that showed me what a healthy relationship is, but also showed me that I'm want to focus on myself and my growth for a bit before I think about romance again. all of that is super novel to me tbh hope this isn't an absolutely wild intro.... 😬🤷🏻‍♀️

Besides the relationship thing… I related to all of this. It’s a huge deal trying to help our brains out and get them to trust us when we tell them it’s safe

Welcome! Glad you found the app! I think of this app as my virtual support system. I personally find the anonymity relieving. And most of us understand what we're all going through in some way which is another relief because you don't have to try to explain the impossible. It's nice. Again, welcome!
