I've tried many SSRI's throughout my life with little help. I am wondering if there are newer medicines that have helped with depression and really helped with panic disorder and regular/constant anxiety.

I have genesight ! I’ve tried Zoloft , Lexapro, buspar, trazidone & none worked they all made things so much worst. Xanax makes me more anxious klonopan does also. Ativan has helped when the er have it to me but I haven’t been prescribed yet. I hate all the side effects and feeling so bad for a month at a time terrified of a medicine is gonna mess up your physical health. Ugh I’m so tired

Also I’m a proponent for getting a gene test done if you’ve tried multiple medications and find that none are helping! It can at least tell you what medications you shouldn’t be trying and won’t do you any good if not anything else

The only thing that I’ve genuinely found to help me is Clonazepam in my experience. Ive tried a total of 14 meds (all antidepressants except 2) and all of them have either caused worse side effects or worse anxiety. I have heard good things about Effexor and Celexa if you haven’t tried those and I know tricyclic antidepressants can be effective if SSRIs/SNRIs don’t work for you but unfortunately I can’t really take anything besides benzos and 1 or 2 antidepressants that I have yet to try for fear of side effects

I actually didn’t take it because I was to scared bc of the side effects from the previous meds I have taken.

Hi Chanel, have you tried any non-benzo types of medicine that have helped your panic disorder?

Did you try Benzodiazepam while you had a panic attack? Maybe it can relieve your symptoms.

There is buspar which made me crazy and feel sooo much worst and dizzy but also I read they are using ketamine but it sounds to scary to me so I don’t think I’ll do either

Well, looks like we something not great in common. Lol. Let's keep this thread going and if I discover anything that helps I'll let you know. Please let me know if you discover anything else, as well. And hopefully another person on this app will join us with some promising info and we'll all go from there.
