hello all. I'm new here. I've had panic attacks for some time now, but yesterday was my worst. lasted about 30 minutes and then had the follow up aftershocks as I like to call them. I didn't sleep well was still feeling anxious but was not at all like it was. anyone else have ones that last long and then linger sort of throughout the day? it was a scary one.

I know exactly how you feel. I was once in a state of constant panic for about 3 hours. Felt like I was going crazy. I'm currently going through having almost daily panic attacks. This is the 3rd time in the past 13 years that I've had anxiety this bad, but it will eventually pass and you will be able to function normally again. You just have to take baby steps to get better. Medication definitely helps, but the meds alone won't fix everything and one must put in their own effort. I got accepted into grad school and stopped going after the first day of classes because of my panic attacks. It feels horrible but I know I will get better again and so will you. Just set realistic goals for yourself and only take baby steps so as not to overwhelm or set yourself up for failure. In the past my brother was working part time so I just spent all my time with him to help me go out because I get horrible anxiety just going grocery shopping, but he works full time now and I just told myself to do my best, because that's all I can do, and only take baby steps. I usually just go out somewhere in public like a shopping center and try to walk around like everyone else, but I try and stay outside a little more each time I am able to go out.
