Hi! I'm Carys and I'm neurodivergent. I haven't been formally diagnosed with autism, but you'd have to be pretty oblivious to look at me and say: "that is a neurotypical person." I mean, I have wayyy too many symptoms. I came on here in hopes of making friends that I can actually relate to. :)

I can so relate! I’ve always had a sinking feeling that I don’t only have ADHD. I wasn’t sure that I might be autistic until I married a formally ASD diagnosed man. I was diagnosed with ADHD before they were allowed to diagnose both so I think that might have something to do with it.

I'm exactly the same way honestly, some of my autistic friends even asked if I was and when I said no they said "maybe you should get that checked out.." lol

My therapist told me I should get the test done but I don’t want the formal diagnosis to hinder my future job career options. But they’ve been trying to get my parents to test me since I was little

So I can relate on the end of having symptoms without the formal diagnosis

It’s actually more beneficial for your career to get the diagnosis. The best conversation I’ve had with my boss was when I explained what the autism spectrum was, what common symptoms were, and how they manifested in me. Beforehand my boss had a big misunderstanding of some of my behaviors which affected our relationship and how he saw me as a worker, but now we’ve come to common grounds on what each of us value and how we can best support each other!

      I’m self-diagnosed too! And very autistic 😅
