Negative side effects of Zoloft and alternative medications

has anyone tried zoloft and had negative side effects? if so, what medication do you now take instead? i just started prozac and i’m just hoping it doesn’t affect me the way zoloft did and cause me to have a dissociative episode again

Can you help? Connect today

I have dissociation but I had it before Zoloft as well so I’m not sure if it just made it worse 😥

I take Zoloft and no issues. I dissociate rarely. 💕

Zoloft affected me negatively in physical aspects and I tried lots of different medications before getting on Viibryd which has worked the best so far!

Zoloft made me scared of everything, and I had bad balance (I fell in the shower). I am on Prozac and have had a much better experience!

I had a really bad experience and got so many side effects to Zoloft. Lexapro was a little better but I realized I don’t react well to SSRIs and had genetic testing showing that. I’m on pristiq and wellbutrin now which are different classes of antidepressants. Unfortunately finding the right medicine is a lot of trial and error.

My personal experience with Zoloft wasn’t too bad. I experience mood swings so as they tapered me up I got manic which is something to watch out for if you’re concerned about that, and on a higher dose (I took 250mg daily) it made me super sweaty but 🤷‍♀️ as far as side effects go it was fine

I had a "black box" response to zoloft, meaning it made things way worse for me. This is an uncommon situation but still possible. Be ready to call your doctor if things get worse suddenly.

i didn’t have any bad reactions to zoloft until i went over 200mg and they just put me back down again. i have had a lot of fatigue but that might also be because i have a sleeping disorder.
