Can Neck Pain Cause Headaches?

My neck pain is so ANNOYING GOSH!!! 😩 Can neck pain cause headaches? Also, last year around July or was it August idk. I did a sit up and thats when- well when my neck pain got worse then it was because I had neck pain but it was because I had a tension headaches, but after I did a sit up I started having actual neck pain... do you think I broke something but I've had this pain for like 11 months now so... what happens to my neck spine?? 🤣 everything is just so weird right now my guess is something with cervicogenic

Sadly yes. I have a spinal injury from over 10 years ago and I've been getting headaches and migraines since :( never had them until I got hurt

same thing happened to me. Had headaches everyday for over 11 years after falling on my tailbone. What do you do to relieve your pain?

I definitely get headaches and eye pain from my neck pain. And my neck pain is usually aggravated by stuff going on in my back. I don’t know what I would do without my chiropractor or my massage therapist. My massage therapist has especially done an amazing job reducing the number of headaches I get.

Definitely, same with back pain. At least that’s what the Emergency room told me.

YES I get headaches when my neck is blocked. I go to a physical therapist who gently manipulates my blocked joins. I have muscle aches for two days after and then the pain is gone.

I suffered from headaches when I had neck pains. I recommend on heating the area and if you can maybe go to acupuncture or tui na sessions, that’s what helped me the most

If you can get it in your area I highly suggest osteopathic manipulative and or fasical release treatment. Neck issues are no joke and I've had really good much with OMM and fascial release work.

Whenever my neck aches I know it’s just a matter of time until my head starts to ache as well.

It can cause headaches, be causes by headaches, or by a symptom of something else that's causing your headache. Neck pain could be nothing, but because of your spinal cord, the multitude of diseases that cause stiffness in the neck, and the fact that it could even be a symptom of a heart condition, I'd mention neck pain to your doctor.

Sounds like it may be CCI/ craniocervical instability. It's not uncommon in EDS patients and can lead to awful headaches. Unfortunately the only treatments are neck bracing and/ or surgery but it's important to get diagnosed because it can be dangerous to go unstabilized.
