What Are the Causes of Neck Jerks and What Should I Do?

A few days ago, I started having these neck jerks. They typically happen in little episodes, for example once it starts jerking it'll get more intense until it calms down, then I go about my day until it starts again maybe a few hours later. It doesn't greatly impact my day to day life so far, but I'm seeking more knowledge on it since I haven't had these before. They *sound* like tics. I can try to suppress them, but then my upper spine feels itchy and my hands and feet start twitching. I sort of worry that I'm faking, because when I don't think about them they don't happen and when I do, they do, but I also genuinely cannot control them and they are causing me pain. I guess my main questions are: Does this sound like tics? What are the different causes of tics? What should I do about this going forward?

It does sound like a motor tick, but it's hard to tell without a professional looking at it. If it doesn't go in a few days, go see a neurologist. Good luck!
