I am not new to gastroparesis, however I am curious if anyone else has had nausea or vomiting while or after drinking plain water. It's something many don't understand.. And if you have.. Does anyone know why this happens? No one has been able to tell me...

@bonnell2 oh my gosh.. Thank you so much for responding.. I have been asking this for years and people keep telling me it's in my head. I can drink watered down Gatorade.. I can drink tea.. Coffee (not easily til the evening) but plain water is a absolute no go even though I could drink it in as a kid. Thank you!!

Ok. Our stomach acid has a lot of hydrogen base. Hydrogen is basically toxic to our system... When we drink water, on top of the extra hydrogen we produce, we become toxic. Our system has to rid itself of the " poison." Thus, the vomiting. Make sense? Hope that helps. That was one of the first questions I asked as well.
