I’m a musician here. Music is my way to express myself and my passion (sadly one I’ve been losing). It really helps me a lot with my mental illness. I dissociate a lot and music tends to bring me back or make it at least not get worse. I feel like it’s because your mind is focusing so much on it instead of the stuff in your head or how you feel without it. Actually, one of my biggest stress relievers is sitting and playing my drums because I have to be very in tune with it all.

Music is able to pull you into a different world. That or it's something to focus on For me music helps me go into my own head and daydream. I also use music as a tool for studying sometimes

Sometimes it's easier to be told what to think and do rather than do it ourselves, in a positive way. It's easy to listen than it is to speak

I feel exactly the same way. It's my escape from reality and my problems

I have found this new (to me) genre of music. From searches I've done, it falls under the "alternative" genre, but the words are understandable. As long as you are not offended by strong language, I highly suggest a song by Yonaka.... "seize the power". This is one of the many songs I've recently discovered that makes me feel like I can do anything. Same artist also does a song titled "clique" that I highly recommend. Have an empowering day!!!!!

Even happy music can make me sad especially if I am not happy so I get this a little too often

It's a escape from reality. Listening to music in a car with the window open has lots of benefits and for the mood.

I listen to music, it's very helpful. Did you know listening to music can actually turn into an addiction? That's what I have. An addition in music. I listen to it all the time it helps me escape and feel good. Maybe you need new music? Ir perhaps music isn't enough.

since using spotify, I HATE radio now. I never thought of it this way, but if music can be an addiction, I need a 12 song program!!

I get so lost in music. I’ll be blasting at full volume with earphones on, on the bus eyes closed and I’ll have someone tell me to turn it down. It’s a beautiful respite from pain.
